Where do you find inspiration for the work you’re doing right now? For me, it begins in the quiet places — the ones inside us that we don’t always know how to name.
My new series, The Inner Cartographer, was born from that inward journey. A journey into memory, into possibility, into the future I’m still building. The graphite drawing you see here was the seed — the first map — that eventually grew into an entire collection of paintings.
A few years ago, I created a graphite triptych that remains one of my most personal and successful pieces. I made it right as I was returning to college, rediscovering myself, and learning to look honestly at the inner workings of my own psyche. That series became a compass. It showed me that the landscapes inside us are just as real, just as textured, as the ones we walk through every day.
Fast‑forward to now: years of introspection, craft refinement, and a deep desire to connect with others who have struggled, rebuilt, and risen. People who are navigating the world around them while trying to make sense of the world within.
That’s who this series is for.
The Inner Cartographer is about the beautiful, messy, balanced, ever‑growing terrain of being human. It’s about the glimmers of a bright future that show up even in the hardest seasons. My hope is that when you look at these pieces, you’ll find a fragment of your own story caught in the brushstrokes — a contour, a memory, a direction.

And tell me — how many of you still use the word “cartographer”? It’s a role that feels almost forgotten, yet it’s exactly what we all become when we map our inner lives.
Follow along as I build this series, one journey at a time. And if you’re local, make plans for late September — the full collection will be on view, and you’ll have the opportunity to bring one of these pieces into your own home.
Do you have a story of inspiration, transformation, or a guided journey of your own? I’d love to hear it.
