About Sonja Lei Art

Welcome to a space where Earth’s whispers, ancestral echoes, and creative impulse converge. Here, every stroke, stitch, and sketch grows from centuries-old traditions and the living pulse of native blooms. Through art, ethnobotany, and spirit-guide teachings, Sonja Lei Art invites you to explore a tapestry of cultural memory woven into the natural world.

Land Acknowledgment

I honor the Washoe, Maidu, and Paiute peoples on whose ancestral lands I create and share my art. To learn more about their ongoing stewardship, please visit our full Land Acknowledgment page.

Sonja’s Journey

Sonja Lei blends Native American heritage with a passion for scientific illustration and ecological stewardship. Guided by her wolf spirit ally, she paints, journals, and gardens as acts of healing and discovery. Each project springs from in-depth research into plant symbolism, ritual practices, and ancestral lore, then blossoms into visual stories that invite reflection and wonder.

Mission & Vision

Sonja Lei Art exists to:

  • Illuminate the wisdom carried by native plants and spirit guides
  • Bridge cultural heritage with contemporary creative practice
  • Foster a community of seekers- artists, gardeners, and storytellers- who honor the earth’s intelligence.

By weaving scientific accuracy into poetic imagery, we aspire to spark curiosity, deepen ecological empathy, and celebrate the regenerative power of art.
