What type of an artist am I ?  I have to decide what the heck I am doing.  Am I going to be able to make a living at being an artist?  Or will I be a starving artist?

One of the artist articles I read not too long ago said that one thing that makes for collectability is working in series.

What the heck could that be?

I decided that the water colors had been a series.  The water color cards have been wildly popular, however, I haven’t been able to sell many of the originals as “original” art.  Even though they were original and signed and dated, people were not interested in spending more than $5 to $10 for them…. Definitely, I am not going to make a living like that.

So I decided to try my hand at oil paint.  Oil Painting tend to be more collectable and desirable.  It definitely is a new medium for me.

I than met a new friend, and we were talking about spirit animals.  He is a Timber Wolf and my Native friends from the Paiute tribe many years ago gave me the Owl as my spirit animal.

I wanted to paint an owl.  Bright colors.  Almost in a dream state.  A spirit to watch over me.

This began my mission.   There are so many different spirit animals.  I was really excited about the owl.  It took me awhile to get it to where I wanted it.  My second attempt was the buffalo.  I still am not happy with it, but it is getting there.

What is your spirit animal, and would you like to see me paint something for you?
